- “Perspectives of Kingston on Soar – Oral History
in a South

2002, now in 2nd printing). The
latest book on Kingston
is the product of a Millennium Awards project to document oral history
in
Nottinghamshire in 2001. The results are
gathered together in this superb A4 book of 91 pages, with over 100 old

living memories of residents, ex-residents and
visitors to the
village give us a glimpse of village life that has largely disappeared.
- A video/DVD
produced at the same time as the above book is available. Titled
"Kingston on Soar –
Perspectives of Village Life Past and Present”. The
video features a selection of interviewees talking
about the village
and includes historical footage such as Kingston Show (1958) and the
gypsum
railway (1969) plus present day events.
