The speed of  traffic in the Parish is of concern to most people.  New road signs have recently been installed in Kingston Village along with additional speed calming measures (painted SLOW and 30mph signs on the road).  The Parish Council is considering similar measures in other parts of the parish, but traffic speed is an ongoing problem.

Midland Mainline have been granted outline Planning Application for a new 'East Midlands Parkway' railway station, off the A453 adjacent to Ratcliffe on Soar power station.  The station will have parking for up to 1000 cars at first, and is intended to reduce traffic on the M1 and the main routes into Nottingham, Derby etc.  It  is  likely that the station will result in an increase in local traffic, however.

Kingston on Soar lies within a few miles of East Midlands Airport and occasionally parishioners are troubled by aircraft noise, particularly at  night.  Although noise-preferred  routes have been set up for departing aircraft, they do not apply to planes which are landing, and do not apply to all classes of  plane.   If you are troubled by aircraft noise, you are encouraged to contact the airport directly, and they will log your complaint (01332 852852).  The more people contact them, the more likely they are to take action!
